Have you ever walked into a hair salon with a picture of a celebrity, OR you flipped through a hair colour book and chose a colour(s) you wanted your stylist to match?

If so, you are a part of the majority. The problem is that there is a major step missing from those scenarios: Utilizing YOUR optimal colour.

Hair is one of the first things people notice about you. If you are not wearing YOUR right hair colour or wearing too many colours in your hair you are distracting others from seeing your personal power. The result you could look dull, worn, outdated, odd, unbalanced, and even old.

The first step to remedy this is to understand your skin undertone. Hair colours are grouped by undertone in the hair colour swatch books, therefore choose a hair colour that matches your undertone. If you are unable to do a formal undertone analysis with a trained colour analysis professional, ask your hair stylist if he/she can determine by looking at you if you are a cool, warm or a neutral undertone.

The above first step will help to align your hair colour with your undertone and you will therefore more effectively magnify your personal power.

The second step to zero in on YOUR best hair colour, is to understand your colour season and flow of colour season. The best way to do this is by working with a professional trained in colour analysis. By knowing whether your colours are in the Winter, Summer, Spring or Autumn palettes and what flow of these palettes you are, you will be in a much better position to make colour choices with regards to hair, makeup and clothing for YOU.

The optimal colours between colour seasons vary significantly. For example if you are a Winter, you should avoid red in the hair, whereas if you are an Autumn, red is recommended.

Before I knew my best colouring and seasons, not only did my hair colour choices distract from my personal power by focusing too much attention on my hair, but, my hair colour made me look dull. Check out my own before & after photos and you will absolutely see the difference (Link Here). Thank goodness for my image training!

Your hair is one of the first things people notice about you. Is your hair colour choice distracting from your personal power? Before you make hair colour choices know your skin undertone and colour season. By making colour choices that give off your best energy you are allowing the world to see the authentic YOU and rather than looking worn or old, you will instead look more elegant, refined, and vibrant.

I hope this article inspires you to wear your authenticity!
